Episode 14 : Dr. Israel

Multi-talented Dr. Israel is a Vocalist, Producer, Engineer, and DJ based out of Brooklyn, NY, who has been producing underground Bass music for over 20 years. He has gained global notoriety for his complex vocal skills and his signature fusion of musical style and genre. His musical composition is centered in Dancehall and Dub, infused with the essence of classic Hip Hop, the darkness of Trap, and the edginess of Punk. 

Conscious lyrics and expertly insightful wordsmithing weave throughout his music. He has a slew of international releases on major and independent labels including Universal, Roadrunner, Axiom, ROIR, Wordsound, Epitaph, Six Degrees, and many others. His solo releases including “Inna City Pressure” and “Patterns of War” have charted significantly on U.S. College and European radio and received glowing reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone, Vibe, URB, The Village Voice, XLR8R, and the LA.Times.

He has collaborated in the studio and on stage with Bill Laswell, Mad Professor, Rancid, Sepultura, Sublime, Laurie Anderson, Bernie Worrell, SantiGold, and DJ Krush and more. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan and has played Major Festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival, South London’s Royal Festival Hall, Reggae on the River in California, Hultsfred Festival in Sweden, Kickzone Music Festival in Germany, Transmusicales in France, Fuji Rock in Japan, The Sync Festival in Athens Greece, and the Movement Festival in Perm, Russia.
